Freelance full-stack
developer for hire

I am Chirag Mehta, a freelance full-stack developer with over five years building production web applications in ReactJS, NextJS, TypeScript, NodeJS and PostgreSQL. I work remote-first from Surat, India with founders and product teams worldwide — on projects, retainers and contracts.

Hiring a freelancer is a bet on judgement as much as on syntax. The work below is what I have shipped, not a services menu written backwards from a keyword list: three SaaS platforms taken from brief to launch, front ends held to Core Web Vitals budgets, and test suites teams still run after I leave.

Available now. Send a brief to chiragmehta.dev@gmail.com and you get scope, a milestone plan and a fixed quote back — not a discovery-call funnel.

What I take on

  • 01

    Freelance ReactJS & NextJS development

Production front ends built in ReactJS and NextJS — App Router, server components, streaming and route-level caching. Typed end to end in TypeScript, styled with Tailwind CSS, shipped with Core Web Vitals budgets held on real devices.

    • ReactJS
    • NextJS
    • TypeScript
    • Redux
    • Tailwind CSS
  • 02

    Freelance full-stack web application development

The whole application, not half of it: NodeJS and ExpressJS services, PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB schemas, REST APIs, auth, background jobs and third-party integrations wired to the front end I build.

    • NodeJS
    • ExpressJS
    • PostgreSQL
    • MongoDB
    • REST APIs
  • 03

    SaaS MVP builds for founders

Idea to a paying-customer-ready product. Scoped in weeks, not quarters — multi-tenant data model, billing, dashboard, admin, deploy pipeline. Three shipped SaaS platforms behind this: Neon Screens, Yaballe and ProductChimp.

    • NextJS
    • PostgreSQL
    • Stripe-ready
    • AWS
    • Docker
  • 04

Performance & Core Web Vitals rescue

Slow React app audited and fixed: bundle splitting, render waterfalls, image and font strategy, LCP and INP work, server-side caching. You get the measurements before and after, not adjectives.

    • Lighthouse
    • Web Vitals
    • Bundle analysis
    • Caching
  • 05

    Automated testing & QA setup

Test suites teams keep running: Jest and React Testing Library at the unit level, Playwright end to end, wired into CI so a red pipeline blocks the merge.

    • Jest
    • React Testing Library
    • Playwright
    • CI
  • 06

    Technical SEO & accessibility engineering

Server-rendered metadata, canonical URLs, sitemaps, JSON-LD structured data and WCAG-conformant markup built into the app rather than bolted on after launch.

    • SSR metadata
    • JSON-LD
    • Sitemaps
    • WCAG 2.2

How we work together

  • Project

Fixed scope, fixed milestones, agreed deliverable. Written brief, architecture note and a timeline before any code.

Best for — MVPs, rebuilds, migrations

  • Retainer

A recurring block of hours each month for ongoing feature work, reviews and releases on a codebase I know.

Best for — Funded products with a roadmap

  • Contract

Embedded in your team on your board and standups, full-time or part-time, for a defined run of months.

Best for — Teams short a senior engineer

Questions I get asked

  • Are you available for freelance work right now?

Yes. I take freelance and contract work as a full-stack developer, remote worldwide, and I am open to full-time roles. Email chiragmehta.dev@gmail.com with the brief, the stack and the deadline and you will get a reply within one business day.

  • What does a freelance ReactJS and NextJS developer cost?

Rates depend on scope, duration and whether the engagement is project-based, retainer or contract. Small scoped projects are quoted as a fixed fee; longer engagements are billed monthly. Send the brief and you get a written quote — no discovery-call funnel.

  • Which technologies do you work in?

ReactJS, NextJS, TypeScript, JavaScript, Redux and Tailwind CSS on the front end; NodeJS, ExpressJS, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB on the back end; Jest, React Testing Library and Playwright for tests; AWS and Docker for deployment.

  • Do you work with clients outside India?

Yes. I am based in Surat, Gujarat and work remote-first with clients across the US, Europe, Israel and Australia. I overlap several hours with both European and US-Eastern working days, and asynchronous written updates cover the rest.

  • How much experience do you have?

Over five years building production web applications, including three SaaS platforms taken from brief to launch: Neon Screens digital signage, the Yaballe drop-shipping platform and ProductChimp Amazon analytics.

  • Can you take over an existing codebase?

Yes — a large share of freelance work is inherited code. It starts with an audit: architecture, dependency and security state, test coverage and performance baseline, followed by a prioritised plan before any refactor begins.

  • How do freelance projects start?

You send a brief. I reply with scope, a milestone plan, a timeline and a fixed quote. On agreement, work runs in weekly increments with a deployed preview environment you can open at any point.

Let's build something

Open to full-time roles and freelance contracts. Tell me what you're building and I'll come back with how I'd ship it.
